Ryco 24.7 V8 ute Championship
Pre Season Naming Rights Partnership Announcement & Hot Lap Rides Pukekohe
Yes we have made the transition from dirt track speedway racing and purchased a Falcon XR8 for the V8 Ute Category. This is a Motorsport NZ sanctioned Championship and we are fizzing to get the racing underway.
We had a great day at Pukekohe prior to the race season getting started. Ryco 24.7 were annouced as Naming Rights Partner for the category. On the day there were approx 150 of their employees from across Australasia at the launch. With 10 race utes on hand we were kept busy taking them all for HotLaps.
I was also stoked to be able to take both Pam and Casey for a few laps around Pukekohe as well.
To say this category is going to be a bit daunting would be a major understatement, but I am relishing the chance to learn the ute and develop a different racecraft. I will probably be Tail-End Charlie but that
doesn't worry me at all. Just wanna be a part of the action and continue to have a blast. To quote X Factor Cars motto "Dare To Live!"
Gotta make mention of long time friend Kevin Moore who has opened up his Tauranga race shop for us to base our racing from for the season.
Plus Blair Trillo from Canterbury Powdercoaters for trusting us with his race trailer for the summer. Couldn't do this without you guys :)
