Speed Festival
Ruapuna Raceway - 11-12 Nov 2023
WOW what a wicked day at Ruapuna’s Speed Festival meeting today. Didn’t qualify that great but the Motorsport Sales 811 Challenger ran faultless all day.
Started our first race from grid 6 and by the time I got to turn 1 we were in second. The car just felt like it had reached a new level and starting lap 2 managed a pass to take the lead. This was short lived cos further down the field there was a major multi car crash which brought on the red flags and cancellation of the race grrr.
We as a team are taking that as a win anyhow LOL and looks like we might have 4 races tomorrow now. Thanks so much to Glen, Blair, Casey and their families for the help and support.
The next day we started our first race from grid 6 and by the time I got to turn 1 we were in second. Got 3rd, 2nd 2nd for the day in depleted fields of cars but still had to work for those places in the hot weather. Think we would have been 2nd overall for the weekend and 1st in our class so really stoked with that 🙂
Thanks again to all the officials and volunteers. Also great to have both Pam and my sister Fiona join us plus Noah and Stellan who have decided to look at helping us out with crew duties. Welcome aboard guys.
