First heat off grid 3 and we managed to get past both the Carey brothers but Trevor Elliott got by us to take the lead. 2nd was a pleasing result though for our first heat and we had nailed that set-up just right.

2 laps form the checkered the engine decided the misfire was back to haunt us again. This cost us a few positions which was so disappointing after such a good effort during the night.

I had a feeling that was our north island tour over and done with especially when viewing what damage the car had sustained in the pits. Even the parts torn from 811 weren't immediately retrieved and returned to us and some parts never were (go figure!) But the speedway community came to the rescue with assistance being offered by lots of south islanders who were there spectating.

So after below average heat race results, there I was on the 3rd place podium ahead of some of the country's best. Congratulations to both Ian and Ray, What a Race!
The 811 Super Saloon team were estatic, I cannot thank Casey and Glen enough for their consistent efforts.

First heat at Nelson and car was waaaaay too loose and no sidebite. Struggled to maintain nice race line and lost one place to finish 5th.
Second heat and the changes we had made were too good. Too much side bite and lifting the left front too high. But the car was fast and felt very good to drive.

From one end of the country to the other and all
in pursuit of my racing addiction. Just a quick write-up this one:
I flew into Invercargill to catch up with Paul & Connor who had 811 all
ready for action. Around 20 cars fronted for this one with still many
of the top cars in the country contending the NZ GP.
